It's trial and error finding the right ones that work the best so I thought I'd lend out my opinion on some of my favorites ! I have oily skin and for years I was covering my face with so much liquid foundation due to acne. I am now 28 and my skin is completely different now and no longer need such a heavy coverage. I am always skeptical to use just a powder because I never thought I would get the coverage I needed, well I was very wrong. The first time I used this powder alone it was great, it goes on smooth, gives a wonderful light to medium coverage without looking powdery at all due to their being no talc in the products. If you want a fuller coverage you can dampen the sponge a little and add more. Throughout the day if my skin gets a little shine I can brush on a little just for touch ups and it still looks amazing and evens out my skin tone and still will not look like I have a lot of makeup on. One of my favorite powders out there. !
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-38480549438667299212012-03-17T17:33:00.001-04:002012-03-17T22:14:38.082-04:00Urban Decay De Slick

I gotta say I am super impressed with this spray, but why think anything less then great when it comes to urban decay! I have used other setting sprays as shown in my other posts and they did work great but when my client told me about the product I had to try it out for myself. Working in a salon it becomes very stuffy and super hot especially in the summer and I love my makeup so it would be great to not have it melting off my skin half way through the day lol...So I go to sephora and happily buy the de slick and excited to use it the next day. My client was right when she said her makeup stays in place ALL day, I finished my makeup and sprayed about 4 sprays over my face and dried it with the blow dryer. No smell or residue left behind. I work from 1-9 and apply my makeup around 11 am and by 9 pm my makeup is still in place, absolutely AMAZING !!!!
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-46555369993330191942012-03-17T17:08:00.000-04:002012-03-17T17:08:18.699-04:00Damage Remedy daily hair repair
I really Love this product. As an Aveda stylist every time I use this product in my clients hair I cannot stop touching and feeling the softness. With Certified organically-derived quinoa protein it strengthens the hair also acting as a heat protector with wheat protien. This gentle leave in is so light you really only need a nickle size. Women are often turned off by leave in treatments as they feel it will way their hair down, but believe me this will not way it down as long as you apply the right amount .

Anyone who has color or chemically treated hair can use this, or anyone who feels their hair is being dried out form excessive heat styling. A little bit really does go a long way. To apply add a nickle size to you palm and spread through your hands like lotion, starting in the mid section of you head comb the product through with your fingers, never apply right to the top of your head with palms facing down, continue to comb all through the hair and adding it to the ends as well, when finished take the remaining product on your hands and comb through the top of your head. Enjoy this product, it is AMAZING :)
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-71429195775401225442011-02-03T00:12:00.003-05:002011-12-27T00:02:38.087-05:00ZANA COSMETICS
This line is about a year old, I had the great opportunity to work with them and become a rep while I was in California. I have been to the main office where everything is shipped from and where they often hold great events to market the makeup! Surprisingly I actually do like the makeup a lot and have been using it ever since. Because it is a new line there is not a ton to choose from, but what they do have is great and cover the necessities of everyday makeup. It is parabean free and non-comedigenic which is something everyone is now looking for in makeup these days. I do have oily skin but sometimes like a full coverage and with this foundation I can get it without it suffocating my skin, I love the blushes and the lip glosses. The line can only be purchased by a makeup rep and that is something I can do for you! Please take a look at the site and feel free to email me with any questions :) klanders8@yahoo.com . I am an impulse buyer and I get very excited and just want to buy buy buy lol, so after a bit more research and finding more airbrush websites, I actually found a good set from a sited called http://www.tcpglobal.com/. I know there are sites such as Dinair, Kett, and a bunch others, but I just ordered mine through that site under the airbrush section and I am happily pleased with it. It came with 2 airbrush guns, one I can use for makeup and one I can use for spray tan, which I have already used!. I don't know a whole lot about airbrush makeup but I'm doing my research and cannot wait to get started on it. Look here for good deals on airbrush machines.http://www.tcpglobal.com/
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-16441616677509017822011-01-06T22:51:00.004-05:002011-12-27T00:05:23.172-05:00SKINDINAVIA BRIDAL FINISH

I have not used this on any brides yet as I do not have any weddings until February but I was curious how it would work if I paired it with the no more shine from Skindinavia and I was definitely happy with the results, like I've mentioned before I work in a salon and it gets extremely hot in there, I spray the no more shine first then do my makeup and set it with the bridal finish and it definitely keeps my makeup in place even when it gets hot in the salon, it no longer melts off my skin like it use to, I only wish I knew about these products in the summer time and had them for my brides then. I can't wait to use it on my bride to see what she says about it. The product is light,no smell and does not feel like there is anything on your skin, but sets the makeup in place and makes your skin look like your own but fresher. I can't wait to try the rest of their products and re-review this in February once I use it on my bride and get her input. Thanks Skindinavia!http://www.skindinavia.com/products-page/makeup-finish/bridal-makeup-finish/
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-9035639330708131492010-12-13T12:44:00.005-05:002011-02-07T00:47:40.192-05:00SKINDINAVIA NO MORE SHINE

I heard of this product from doing one of my many searches online for new products, I seen it on a youtube video found here: www.youtube.com/user/xsparkage she has some great videos! I am in the salon during the week and it can get very very hot in there, also our ventillation is awful so within a few clients I am automatically very shiny and my makeup is melting off my skin, I do have oily skin as well so the combination is awful, as a hairstylist and makeup artist I do not look very attractive lol or put together once my makeup is smearing off my skin, so I am up to try anything that says no more shine!

Well here is my review: Once I finish my morning skin prep, I spray the No more shine about 4 time onto my face and let it dry for a minute before applying my makeup, a few hours into my work day and a couple blowdrys later my makeup is still in place but like i said I do have oily skin so some shine does come through but it is no where near what it was before, I wish I found this in the begining of the summer time because it was super hot here in Boston. So I am happy to say that I do like this product a lot, it's light, does not bother my skin and it does keep everything in it's place, I cannot wait to use their other products for photo shoots and up comming weddings. http://www.skindinavia.com/
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-24096374387858146782010-12-12T22:59:00.006-05:002011-02-07T00:49:31.099-05:00my website
http://www.zhibit.org/kmakeup EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE !
Here's the thing, the salons I keep getting myself into are so far from what I like as a stylist, meaning that it's not the type of cliental that I like, it's very simple hair, typical foil nothing dramatic not a lot of maintenance just simple and pretty, Boston is very conservative and these women do not have a lot of time to get ready for the day so they need something that looks good but they don't want to spend a lot of time on it,which is totally fine, I do what they ask for and I am happy to give them what they want, but at the same time all the creative energy I have brewing in my head quickly goes out the door with every simple style that I do. If it wasn't the "norm" to get our hair cut or colored I'm sure most people would not even do it. People get haircuts because it's part of a routine and they have to or else it starts to look bad and at that point it "NEEDS" to be done not really "WANTS" to be done, and women who get their hair colored also get it done because partially it "NEEDS" to be colored because there is gray and no one wants to be gray. I hear a lot of women say I don't want to deal with the up keep, I don't want to commit,I don't have the time BUT women or girls who wear makeup wear it because they WANT to and they enjoy it and it is fun for them, it's not something that wears off in a few months and needs to be re applied or touched up, there is NO commitment to wearing makeup, only the one you create. Women and girls who wear makeup actually enjoy it and for some its a girly pretty fun thing to do, for others who are on camera or who work face to face with people like myself it can really make your features look amazing. Having great looking skin makes you feel great on the inside as well and having great hair it goes hand in hand but people generally only enjoy one or the other. For me it's a total package I do not want to look like barbie or someone that I am not but I do know that when I am well dressed, my hair looks great and my makeup is looking great, I on the inside feel my best and that shows on the outside as well, making you more confidant in who you are! So I guess my answer is makeup only because it's something that most really love to do because they like to wear it an want to not because it has to be done!
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-20555571842968174922010-12-12T20:32:00.004-05:002011-02-07T00:50:31.120-05:00THANKS TO ALL THE MAKEUP ARTISTS
I just want to say a very special thanks to all the makeup artists out there that I follow and that follow me and to all the you tube videos I watch for hours on end that teach me so many new things! I am only 27 year old and have loved makeup since I was a little girl. I would consider myself a professional mua as about 4 years ago. I have been doing makeup on myself for a very long time but doing it on yourself and doing it on other people is such a different thing and I never really knew if I would get use to it. As years went on and I graduated cosmetology school and started becoming an actual professional if was very difficult because I was so young, starting a career at 18 wasn't easy, so I took a year r so off and got started again in my twenties, it's been about 7 yrs now and 4 in makeup and I have learned sooooo much from everyone on these sites and blogs and you tube videos it's amazing the amount of talent that is out there, I wish I could meet everyone and work with all of you on a daily basis. I get so much inspiration from everyone that it really keeps me going as an artist and I couldn't be more happy to know that there are so many girls out there that love makeup just as much as I do and love to share their creativity with the world ! So I thank you all for everything you have taught me and I am happy to share what I have learned to the people I work with!
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-22020464267926090322010-03-21T20:55:00.004-04:002011-02-07T00:51:18.803-05:00TEEN MAKEUP AND SKIN CARE
It wasn't too long ago that I was a teen myself. This August I will be turning 27 and it is sort of a scary yet exciting feeling. I have learned so much about hair, skin care and makeup since my teen days and now things are so much easier to access information about beauty world through countless books, online forums, blog sites and even you tube has become a huge outlet for education on makeup applications!. One thing I can say for the teens out there who have trouble with acne like I did, I know how you feel. As a teen with acne, you want to disappear into the background and smother your skin with as much makeup you can to cover it all. I once used an Almay foundation that was sooo heavy I might as well just put the whole bottle on my face lol. At the time I didn't know much about makeup and how to cover acne and blemishes or how to reduce redness, the only thing I knew really was to not pick at it because it will make it worse. Now I can say to all the teens facing the same problem as I did that there are so many options out there it can be overwhelming. It really is a trial and error process to find the right skin care product for you but if your acne really is a big problem whatever you do do not use the heaviest foundation out there. You already have oily skin so you do not want to smother it with and oil based foundation, always make sure it is water based if you are using a foundation. Another good makeup to use which is what I currently am using myself is a medium to full coverage powder from AVEDA, It gives you the coverage you need and you do not feel like you have a face full of heavy makeup, you look smooth and matte and feel confidant that your acne is toned down but you will not look like you are wearing heavy makeup. Another thing I learned was about tanning, I had tanned for many many years to help my acne and as it did I was told a few months ago that because it is drying out your skin it is also setting the scars in your skin and that you cannot undo, luckily I have only very very little scaring but I still always hated it and felt horrible about it. So just remember water based foundation, powders are great too! I have only made 2 maybe 3 in like 3 months, some girls have new videos all the time and there AWESOME. it's funny because I feel totally weird making videos and talking into a camera while I explain how to put on makeup, but I am a hairdresser I explain how to do things like that all the time to people and I'm so outgoing in work and can talk all day but i feel silly making these videos. Plus I don't want to waist my product either by making a video then washing it off all the time, and when I get an actual day or minute to myself i'm not in the mood to do makeup lol. so how the heck does everyone find the time to make these great videos????? any tips ?Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-27395489109542390902009-09-10T22:30:00.002-04:002009-09-10T22:37:37.488-04:00SEASON CHANGESo this doesn't have much to do with makeup but it is almost time to start going darker, in some parts of the world, like my part in Boston Ma. It is already starting to feel like fall and I still have bright pink nail polish on my toes and I went to get my nails done today and had to part with the pink and go with something a bit darker, I am soooo not ready for the change of seasons, we had such a crappy summer that I need another month or 5 lol of hot weather, bright clothes, sandals and pink polish lol. but it happens every year and I should be use to it by now but I'M NOT...

So it's time to say good bye to the brights and say hello to the darks for now, at least till I move to california!!!!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-55363148757441225202009-09-09T00:36:00.000-04:002009-09-09T00:36:39.166-04:00Models of the Runway Casting ChallengeModels of the Runway Casting ChallengeAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-74545747219360671792009-09-01T22:22:00.002-04:002009-09-01T22:48:37.005-04:00MY 2 FAVORITE SELF TANNERSI am a very pale girl , but I loooove the sun and this summer has been the first summer I was not super tan. About a month ago I layed in the sun 2 days in a row and by the 3rd day my skin felt like crap and I'm only 26, so I got really freaked out and have not been in the sun since. I have not tried too many self tanners but I do really like the one from dove, it does not have an odd smell like some others, it actually smells kind of pretty so that is a plus!! it also does not make you look super orange or streaky another plus!. I use the light one and I really can see a difference, I'm not gonna say it's the greatest tan in a bottle but it really does give your skin a nice glow. I just today bought the one for medium to dark skin so maybe this one will give me a bit more color!!! we'll see.

The second one I like is the Sun Source from Aveda. I find it a bit different than the dove in the sense that I really only use the sun source when I already have a bit of a tan and want to bring it out more for that it works great! the smell is a little weird but your suppose to put it on 2 hours prior to going out, so the best thing to do is shower (and this goes for any self tanner) exfoliate and as your lotion apply the tanner right after your shower and continue to get ready!! ENJOY TANNING.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-71157832789820149812009-07-21T23:08:00.004-04:002009-07-21T23:19:47.128-04:00NEVER TOO MUCH MAKEUPI thought of this new post after reading LIPSTICK RULES blog about neglecting her lipsticks lol. I have soo much makeup for just one person and I too do the same. I forget about half the makeup I have and keep buying more and new and anything exciting and bright and forget that I actually have double the makeup I really do, as does everyone else. There are sooooo many color combos you can make it's not even funny, It's amazing actually and very exciting to mix and create new colors, some of the best shades happen when your using 5 shadows on one eye, but the trick unless your going for an extravagant look is to not make it look like there are 5 shadows on one eye lol. There have been so many collections that I have missed out on simply because I do not want to not use it, but in the end if you love make up like I do then you can NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH MAKEUP!!!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-78358578461714097842009-07-17T22:35:00.003-04:002009-07-17T23:00:14.586-04:00NO MAC BRUSHES !!!!So I feel like I am the only one in the world who does not have Mac brushes, I even had the pro card for 3 yrs!. I didn't really start getting creative with my makeup until about 3 yrs ago, so brushes really weren't something I spent a lot of money on. I would go to sally's beauty supply and stack up on the brushes from there. They do get the job done but not the most precise. Once I started my advanced makeup classes I was given a new bush set with a brush case and a set of 12 new fluffy brushes and everyone always asks me where I got them and unfortunately I do not know where they came from, so I never had the need to get Mac brushes but I feel totally left out, but I really do love my brushes cause there so soft but maybe I will purchase a Mac brush or 2!!!

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-10761082371356700602009-07-14T15:05:00.001-04:002009-07-14T15:05:10.179-04:00Nutrition Guidelines, Healthy Eating made SimpleNutrition Guidelines, Healthy Eating made Simple

Shared via AddThis
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-41817196248960079552009-07-14T14:38:00.001-04:002009-07-14T14:38:30.946-04:00Beauty Product Ingredients Worth Avoiding | BrettâÂÂs BlogBeauty Product Ingredients Worth Avoiding | BrettâÂÂs Blog

Shared via AddThis
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-503274543970985677.post-91709757574944001092009-06-28T19:30:00.005-04:002009-06-28T19:58:37.952-04:00SENSI CLEAR CLEANSER
Having clear skin is not always the easiest thing to achieve, fortunately after years of using alcohol, Noxzema, oxy pads and the most drying of products which at the time I thought was really good for my skin, I found Sensi Clear. I seen it one day while I was watching the Janice Dickinson reality show ( the model show) Sensi Clear had come to her modeling agency in LA and wanted to use her models that had acne prone skin to try out the product on them to see how well it works. I figured if Janice Dickinson can have them on her show and trust they will see results then I can give it a try.

I went to the website and signed up for the trial period and let me tell you how happy I was that I did, the product last a very long time (about 2 months) I have been using it for almost a year now and after 3 weeks I could see instant results. I have not used anything since although it is good to changed every few months, but I was really satisfied with the product I am still using it. Although my skin looks 10 times better, I still feel as though I am the girl with bad skin and when I talk to my clients and refer to my skin as "BAD" they give me a funny look and said "your skin looks great" I wish I could record them every time they said that so I could send it to the company!.

I do have oily skin and I also having some permanent scaring, which is now permanent from all the tanning I have done in my life to eliminate my acne, but i can say that I will leave the house without make up and that is something I never thought I would do, so thanks to sensi clear and I hope this helps anyone in my situation..

I wanted to be everywhere at once and take the whole convention home with me!! I felt like i needed to buy everything at the show, which anyone who loves makeup would easily be able to do the same, but there were a few things I had in mind that I wanted to get. Including palettes from Auraline Beauty http://www.auralinebeauty.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1
which I love and I'm so happy to have them, ( concealer, cream to powder foundation).
I got tons of info on makeup schools which I hope to attend next year. I also got the shimmery 88 palette and I am super excited to use, I have to say thanks to the girl who was shopping next to me who talked me into getting it because it was so great.!!

Overall I enjoyed my first show and hope to attend more as my career develops.!
I just seen on another blog that marlena was at the show and I wish I could have met her, she is amazing at what she does. But I did get to see maxi which was pretty cool!

I also which I felt bad I kind of attacked him but I was so excited was petrilude from you tube
http://www.youtube.com/user/petrilude

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00341187924185330944noreply@blogger.com0
